They liked each other’s Instagram stories and sent each other direct messages to start their romance in typical Gen-Z fashion. It began on the same channels that characterize their generation, a contemporary social media fantasy. And after that, they led happy, ever after lives? Not exactly. so could be a fitting ending for a Disney film, but in actuality, things are rarely so easy, even in the idyllic world of social media.
Ever since their first encounter, Nora and Khalid had a strong bond based on respect for one another and a profound comprehension of each other’s goals. But they soon realized that this was only the start. Finding the ideal spouse is just the beginning; the road that lies ahead will be fraught with highs and lows as they come to love each other’s changing selves as they go through different stages of life. After all, it takes ongoing work to keep a successful relationship going, and the pair takes great satisfaction in their ability to do so.The couple is now set to start a new chapter in their life—parenthood—filled with joy, excitement, and the prospect of even bigger experiences as they get ready to welcome their first child in a few weeks.
How I got to know your mom
After graduating from Palestine’s Khalid Alherani School of Civil Engineering, he returned home and temporarily worked in his father’s company until an accidental Instagram message completely transformed his life. “I had to find out why a girl who had 100,000 followers loved two of my images,” he laughs as he recalls. That girl was Nora Achmaoui, a thriving businesswoman who had previously started a number of service-based businesses via SHEEO, an online business network.
Nora, who was born in Germany to Moroccan parents, relocated to Dubai in 2020 because she thought that “the land of Burj Khalifa” held the key to her future. A partnership developed in the middle of the hustle and bustle of life and work. The 29-year-old said, “I have always thought of myself as better at making commercial decisions than personal ones.” However, I did not want to be that forty-year-old, alone, billionaire on a yacht. I needed someone who felt the same way as me.
As they became aware of each other’s advantages and limitations, their bond grew stronger. We once got into this conversation over our—what I like to call—leaks. She has amazing business sense, whereas I do not think I am very smart about business. However, I have very certain standards for fitness and health; I have always believed that my body is what makes me strong, and this is something Khalid, 27, wished to get better at. Nora continues, “It is critical that everyone of us has a companion that we admire.”
