With an array of megaprojects set to open this year, it is the tourist destination Kalba Waterfront in the UAE that will open its doors by the end of this year. The construction is almost completed and the waterfront for tourists in Sharjah’s Eastern Region, called the Kalba Waterfront, is scheduled to allow visitors in the 4th quarter of 2022.

The Kalba Waterfront is a major addition to the already popular and crowded Sharjah city. The development will include a promenade, a hotel, a museum, and an aquarium.

The promenade will have several restaurants with outdoor seating that overlook the Persian Gulf. There will also be retail outlets and kiosks. The hotel will have over 200 rooms with a view of the Gulf. Moreover, the museum will be dedicated to the history and culture of Sharjah. The aquarium will have many tanks with different sea creatures.

The Kalba Waterfront is a project by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq). The Kalba Waterfront is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. Not to forget, it is a beautiful place to take a walk, relax, and enjoy the scenic location. There are many restaurants and cafes along the waterfront with different shops and boutiques.

Shurooq, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, said that the project is now ready to open its doors to the public. Spanning over an area of 45,000 square feet, Kalba Waterfront will feature more than 50 outlets, including restaurants, cafes, retail stores, and leisure facilities.

Speaking about the completion of the project, Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Shurooq, said, “The completion of Kalba Waterfront is yet another significant achievement for Shurooq as we continue to drive Sharjah’s economic growth and development.”

Adding to it, he further stated that the project is a key part of their effort to boost tourism and position Sharjah as a leading destination for leisure and recreation. “We are confident that Kalba Waterfront will become a popular destination for residents and tourists alike, and contribute significantly to the Emirate’s economy”, he added.

Besides this, Shurooq is currently working on various other projects aimed at enhancing Sharjah’s tourism including the redevelopment of Al Noor Island, the Sharjah Promenade and the Al Montazah Parks.

The Kalba Waterfront is also home to different museums and art galleries. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the outdoors, the Kalba Waterfront is the perfect spot. The project, being developed at an estimated cost of AED119 million, is the largest retail and the first inclusive waterfront destination in the eastern region of the emirates.
