SYRIA (Consortium News) – Sergey Lavrov commented on the state of affairs in Syria, he stated that the Russian and Turkish armed forces will keep long-term contact regarding what’s happening within the Syrian district of Idlib.

” The army of Russia and Turkey, that still remain in Syria throughout the Idlib region, preserve the long-lasting relationships and even analyze any changes that take place,” mentioned Lavrov.

The minister of foreign affairs explained that there is a “total awareness” in this respect among the Russian and Turkish armed forces.

” I really hope people and Government leaders are able to offer suggestions which will decrease the stress [within Idlib] using the structured arrangements attained through the leaders of Russia & Turkey,” this person pointed out.

Moscow emphasized the assistance of Russian consultants to the anti-terrorist battle regarding the Syrian Military.

The pressure within the demilitarized region of Idlib initially created during 2018 by an arrangement made with the heads of Russia and also Turkey, Vladimir Putin, and Erdogan.

Tensions grew once again in early February because of an exchange of military action or assaults between the Turkish and Syrian army.

The Turkish leader offered Damascus an ultimatum to stop its venture/war efforts in Idlib and take out its soldiers from the Turkish monitoring stations well before completion of February, making a threat of using its armed force to push them out.

Syria denounces the Turkish presence, looking at it as an “aggressiveness act” opposing its sovereignty.
