“We firmly and categorically denounce, before the International Criminal Court, the US Government for its crimes against humanity against the Venezuelan people who have the right to peace and self-determination, enough of such aggression and blockade! Venezuela demands justice ! “, said the president in his Twitter account.
This Thursday, Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza introduced a document before the ICC, in The Hague, in which he said that details and legal reasons for the illegality of coercive measures against the Caribbean country.
In addition, Arreaza recalled that they are measured against the economy, which seeks a political purpose, to cause a change of government in this South American nation.
On Monday, Maduro had announced that his government would sue the United States before international instances, after the sanctions Washington imposed on February 7 on state airline Conviasa and 40 of its planes.
According to the Secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin, the government of the Venezuelan president depends heavily on the airline to travel abroad.
In addition, Maduro accused opposition Juan Guaido of being directly responsible for the US measure against the Venezuelan state airline.
