Veteran Kurdish political leader Barham Salih has been chosen as the new President of Iraq.

Barham Salih, a registered member for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan knocked out his primary combatant Fuad Hussein from the Kurdistan Democratic Group with 219 ballots to 22 and gained the presidency of Iraq.
