This might be the second casino resort to open in the United Arab Emirates. Together with a local partner, US hotel operator Wynn Resorts is building an integrated gambling resort on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, with an opening date set for 2027.
In order to implement a globally preeminent regulatory framework for commercial gaming, the United Arab Emirates founded the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) in September 2023.
By establishing a socially conscious and well-regulated gaming environment, the GCGRA will make sure that all players follow the highest standards and rigorous rules. It will oversee licensing across the country, coordinate regulatory actions, and make it easier to appropriately exploit the economic potential of commercial gaming.
It gave UAE Lottery the first license to run the first legally sanctioned lottery in the nation.
