Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the Minister of Economy of the UAE, and Olivier Becht, the Minister-in-charge of Foreign Trade, Attractiveness, and French Nationals Abroad, held a meeting in Abu Dhabi to discuss the prospects of expanding bilateral trade and promoting investments in various sectors. The meeting was attended by Nicolas Niemtchinow, the Ambassador of France to the UAE, and a delegation of officials from the French government who were visiting the UAE.
The ministers explored avenues for developing bilateral trade and enhancing investment exchanges in areas such as innovative startups, circular economy, tourism, technology, family businesses, renewable energy, and agriculture. They emphasized the importance of accelerating the existing partnership and economic cooperation between the UAE and France.
During the meeting, Minister Al Marri highlighted the strong and sustainable strategic partnership between the UAE and France, which enjoys the support and visionary leadership of both countries. He noted the recent high-level official visits exchanged between the two nations, including the visit of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to France in May, which demonstrated the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations on various fronts.
Minister Becht acknowledged the privileged economic and trade relations between France and the UAE, emphasizing that the UAE is one of France’s key trading partners in the region. He also highlighted the role of the recently established French-Emirati Business Council in enhancing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting reflects the mutual desire of the UAE and France to expand their economic ties and capitalize on the potential for collaboration in various sectors.
