In a major humanitarian act, the family of a brain-dead man in Abu Dhabi donated the deceased’s heart to a patient in Riyadh suffering from heart failure. A medical team from King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center visited the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi to perform a donor heart removal surgery.
After obtaining the consent of the deceased’s relatives, the organ donation process was performed in approximately four minutes of surgery.
