Kochi to Venice

UAE culture Latifa Saeed’s new works have been included as a feature of the ‘Past Arising Craftsmen’s drive by Abu Dhabi Workmanship under the Division of Culture and The travel industry With her immersive installations that highlight UAE culture, Dubai-based multidisciplinary Emirati artist Latifa Saeed has been making waves on the international art scene.

Displayed in renowned settings from Kochi to Venice, her works are catching the creative mind of workmanship devotees and pundits the same. Her well-known installation, “Dust Devils,” is influenced by the UAE’s vast deserts.

It combines a smoke machine, hologram, and electromagnetic device to create a sensory experience similar to tornadoes and whirlpools found in nature. Her establishments have seen guests dive into a vivid world she has made with the backing of logical and designing abilities.

“Guests would leave with an interest, understanding and gain information about the barometrical extraordinary scenes of the Center Eastern deserts,” Latifa told Khaleej Times in front of Emirati Ladies’ Day. Latifa reflected on her artistic journey and mentioned that while she attended Dubai’s Latifa School for Girls, creative expression came naturally to her.

The school had areas of strength for an educational program and looked at workmanship as a significant center subject all through the understudy’s scholarly excursion. That, I believe, set the stage for my artistic career. Her most recent creations were showcased as part of Abu Dhabi Art’s “Beyond Emerging Artists” program, which is run by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi). She has exhibited her works this year at the Biennale Arte 2024 in Venice, Italy, and Kochi’s Durbar Hall Art Gallery in the Indian state of Kerala. Collectors, curators, critics, and top-tier artists are known to attend both events.

The Venice Biennale is well-known all over the world. Our artistic careers will be significantly impacted by Abu Dhabi Art’s placement of our exhibit on the most significant international cultural platform. Discussing her interest at the Kochi fair, she noted it was a stage for both arising and laid out craftsmen, especially from the Worldwide South. One of Asia’s most important works of contemporary art can be found in Kochi.

In Kochi, her work named ‘Notes from Another Shore’, upheld by Rizq Craftsmanship Drive was a festival of the UAE-Kerala relationship. “This relationship carries new aspects to the social scenes of the two locales,” she said and brought up that being essential for the Kochi fair was a “significant experience”.

“It built up the possibility that workmanship rises above boundaries and dialects, going about as a general medium that unites individuals. I am thankful for the chance to share a bit of Emirati culture with the Keralans and have meaningful conversations with them.

In Kerala, our works found resonance. Latifa featured that such worldwide openness furnished her with a more extensive point of view on her work and sees it in a worldwide setting. It broadens my perspective on my own culture and country. She stated, “This exposure enriches our creativity, increases our credibility, and motivates us to investigate novel concepts and innovation while remaining rooted in the values and traditions that define our identity.”
