Pape Diouf, former president of the French football club Marseille, died of coronavirus. The club said that Diouf was 68 years old and had been the president of the club from 2005 to 2009.
According to the BBC report, during this time the club had finished second in Ligue 1 twice and reached the final of the French Cup twice.
The club wrote on Twitter, “Pep will always remain in Marseille’s heart as a great craftsman of the Klub.” The League de Football Professional (LFP) said, “Pep, the journalist, agent, president of Marseille, devoted his entire life to football.”
Former France and Liverpool striker Dzibrill said, “Today France football lost a great man. I am very sad today. May God rest his soul.”
