Wipro Limited, Wipro Enterprises Limited, and Azim Premji Foundation have said to give Rs 1,125 crore to combat the unprecedented health and humanitarian crisis arising out of Coronavirus.
Wipro and the Foundation said in a joint statement that these resources would help enable a dedicated medical and service fraternity to limit the fight against the epidemic and reduce the widespread human impact of the epidemic.
Wipro Limited Company will give Rs 100 crore while Wipro Enterprises Limited will give Rs 25 crore and Azim Premji Foundation will give Rs 1,000 crore. This amount is in addition to the annual CSR activities of Wipro and the general public welfare expenses of the Azim Premji Foundation.
The statement said that these initiatives would be carefully coordinated with the concerned government institutions and would be implemented by a team of 1,600 people from the Azeem Premji Foundation. Apart from this, more than 350 social organizations of the country will also cooperate, which has a considerable presence across the country.
