If you are thinking to watch this Hotstar series which is produced by Shridhar Raghavan. Just don’t go by seeing its promotional posters, as it will only bring disappointment. But, if you arw the one who doesn’t judge the book by its cover, then keep your expectations aside, it can be a bearable watch.
The story revolves around a boy names Aditya (Vikrant Massey). He is shown as an MBA student and a football lover. He also helps his father by driving cab. His brother-in-law run a cab, which is registered with First Cabs. Aditya is shy in nature and a typical good guy who can cross any limit to help a needed person. So, you won’t expect much trouble in such person’s life.
Aditya wants to attend on night party, but his sister Avni (Rucha Inamdar) requests him to drive the cab, Just to get some extra money during surge pricing. Aditya agrees and inform his friends that he will attend the partt. The trip goes on longer than he thought. As, one girl keeps on changing the different destination. So, he drop her home. After driving for few minutes, he noticed that the girl left her phone in his cab. So, he decides to drive back to return it. The girl feels good to get her phone back, in the other hand she feels bad to ruin his party.
So, she tells Aditya to party at her home. He’s at the first place got hesitated, but soon gives in. Both of them share a drink, make out, and then the girl slips a drug tablet in Aditya’s mouth. They spend a night together. When, Aditya woke up, he noticed the lady has been brutally killed. And, the worst part was he didn’t remembered anything. He was confused whether he killed the lady or somebody did that?
The storyline if yhe series doesn’t focus on the murder mystery alone. It has been splited into courtroom drama. Aditya’s ordeal in jail where he getd completely transformed man.
Pankaj Tripathi’s Madhav Mishra, character is contrast with Kaleen Bhaiya of Amazon Prime series Mirzapur. Tripathi recognised as money-minded lawyer, one who cannot be trusted. Mandira Mathur (Mita Vashisht) plays a role of lawyer who’s representing First Cabs in the murder case.
In prison he saw an entirely different world. There he found the support bof Mustafa Bhai. Madhav on thr other hand with Mandira start collecting evidence to prove the innocence of Aditya.
Jackie Shroff’s Mustafa there was recognised as a true leader. His performance is one of the best performance of the series, something that stays with you.
The series also showm about the life of family members of Aditya. How they suffered financial hardships and shame in the society. Criminal Justice can have a stronger impact with shorter episodes, crisper editing and good twists and turns.
