Gaza truce talks

After dozens of people were killed in attacks across the Palestinian territory over the previous 24 hours, Israeli military aircraft struck Hamad City while artillery blew up residential buildings in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Hamas has informed the mediators that it is willing to meet after the ceasefire talks in Qatar to determine whether or not Israel will seriously respond to truce proposals.

The US and Israel are sending delegations to Qatar for the talks, which are scheduled to begin later today. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani urged all parties not to interfere with the crucial negotiations on the eve of them. During Israeli military raids, five people were killed by Israeli security forces in the occupied West Bank’s Tubas governorate.

Four Palestinians were killed in a drone strike on the town of Tammun. In Israel’s war on Gaza, at least 39,965 people have died and 92,294 have been injured. During the Hamas-led attacks on Israel on October 7, an estimated 1,139 people were killed, and over 200 people were taken hostage.
