After Israel’s military instructed the entire population of Gaza City—300,000 people—to leave, civilians fleeing the city claim that people were shot during forced evacuations.
After a bloody two-week incursion, Israeli forces have partially left Gaza City’s Shujayea district. Residents claim that bodies are “filling the streets” of their next target, the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood.
As efforts to end the nine-month war are hindered by intensified Israeli attacks, ceasefire talks continue in Qatar. Something like 38,345 individuals have been killed and 88,295 injured in Israel’s conflict on Gaza since October 7.
The estimated death toll from Hamas-led attacks on Israel on October 7 is 1,139, and dozens of people remain imprisoned in Gaza.
