Tenet

The fantasy spy movie, Tenet was set to hit the cinema screens on 17th July, pushed to July 31st but, considering the current situation the release date has been further postponed to 12th August.

Amidst this global pandemic situation, various industries have been adversely impacted. One such industry is the Entertainment industry. Due to the lockdown filmmakers and their crew have no choice but to wait for everything to go back to normal so that they can start working on their unfinished projects and began working on the new ones.

About the movie and the cast

Tenet is a high budget Hollywood film, which was expected to be to be released in US cinemas during the summer.

This espionage thriller is directed by the talented British director Christopher Nolan. His other films include Inception, Interstellar and the Oscar-winning World War II film Dunkirk.

Nolan also directed Dark Knight trilogy – Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.

The movie revolves around the protagonist, which is played by John David Washington. His role is seen trying to protect the world from a deadly disaster. The further star cast includes Robert Pattinson and Sir Kenneth Branagh.

Unlike, Universal and Disney Warner Bros. are not interested in making Tenet, a digital release, they are expected high revenues from the film. “Christopher Nolan movies perform exceedingly well at the box office, and Tenet is the type of film that could have crossed $1 billion easily in non-pandemic times,” reports claimed.

Emmerich told Variety the Warner Bros., is “not treating Tenet like a traditional global day-and-date release, and our upcoming marketing and distribution plans will reflect that.” This implies that as theatres begin to reopen around the world, including in prominent markets like Asia, Warner Bros. is planning to release Tenet overseas while keeping the film off its domestic slate.
