Marita Monterio, a captivating and dynamic influencer, has taken the digital world by storm with her unique blend of charisma and unwavering authenticity. Marita of Indian origin and currently based in Mumbai hails from the picturesque coastal city of Kuwait, she is an admired lifestyle influencer with fans across the world, especially in India. But did you know that her family and her along with millions of other Indians were caught up amidst Gulf War in 1991?
Born and raised in Kuwait, Marita’s parents are from Karnataka’s city, Mangalore. After doing her primary and secondary schooling at Indian Community School in Kuwait, she completed her BDS degree in Mangalore, India. Born in Salmiya (Kuwait), her life experiences have been enriched with some of the most vibrant and diverse happenings.
Sharing one of the most crucial memories from her journey, we recall Marita talking about the Gulf War. She has first-hand witnessed the destructive events shown in the Bollywood movie Airlift. As a young child, she found herself amidst the tumultuous events of that era. Her family had to make the harrowing decision to flee Kuwait for safety. As a kid, she embarked on a bus journey along with her family to Jordan and found temporary shelter aided by red cross in a tent until they were eventually airlifted to Mumbai with the support of Indian Government. She then went to Mangalore and continued her education. Marita returned to Kuwait after the situation got back to normal.
Marita brings a rich tapestry of cultures from both Mumbai, Mangalore and Kuwait that influences not only her lifestyle but also her content, making it a truly diverse and captivating experience for her audience. Her love for Mediterranean cuisine is just one facet of this multifaceted tapestry. Marita is equally influenced by various other elements from these two nations, ranging from fashion and traditions to music and art.
Her upbringing in a multicultural society has given her a unique perspective on life, which she seamlessly weaves into her content. Her ability to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity has made her a relatable figure to a wide range of viewers in Kuwait, India, and beyond.
She has been donning the hat of a lifestyle influencer since 2019. Marita follows her passion and is also excelling in her profession. Having completed her Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry in affiliation with NYU, she has been a dental surgeon since 2008. She is trusted by her clients for her proficiency. But that’s not all! Marita has always been inclined towards modelling and has achieved a few feats too. She was the finalist for Haute Monde Mrs. India 2018.
