Today we present to you all the way from Kolkata, Ankit Shaw. He is a fantastic dancer, host, fashion influencer, and a TEDx speaker. At the age of 24, he has achieved success in many diversified fields, yet this success story is not complete without his struggles. On the path to follow his dreams, he learned to overcome his very childhood barriers and has worked hard for it. After graduating from 10th, he took a solemn promise that he would pay the fees for all his future studies. For this, he started giving out multiple tuitions and strained hours at call centers. He continued his studies and walked down the path to become the inspiration figure that he is today.
So, having come a long way, the stage has always been a constant for him. He used to participate in every big or small event and dance workshops that came his way. He grabbed every opportunity that came his way. At such a young age, he is a self-made dancer. He has mastered several dance forms like Kathak, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip-hop, Flamenco, and many others. Having such vast knowledge on these various dance forms, he never had any signified training.
Having learned Ballet, one of the most challenging dance forms, unlike other people, he self-learned by watching a top-rated American dance reality show “So you think you can dance” Dance India Dance (DID) and YouTube. Having performed at World Cups, IPL opening ceremonies, and other such events, he realized that he wanted to pursue his goals and walk down a different path i.e., he wanted to pursue his career in hosting anchoring.
When in college, he pursued media and mass communication, and later, he started working in short films. This was quite different from the macrocosm of dance. He wanted to do with popular news channels in India like Aaj Tak and Zee News as a news anchor after college. During this time, he received offers to host live events, corporate events, sports events, press launches, and conferences. Due to his free and dynamic mindset, this seemed like a better opportunity than television channels.
Within three years, he has hosted several events like; in 2019, he hosted the red carpet of Bhojpuri Cinema, worked with star sports in pro kabaddi as the official host. He also hosted and joined in as a speaker at TEDx.
It’s been three years since he joined the live event industry and his audience and peers love and respect him for his uniqueness, charismatic behavior, comprehensive vision, and dynamic character. When preparing for his performance or an event, though a lot of time is consumed on selecting outfits, styling, and makeup, what he really focused on was his content and script. The audience enjoys and loves him for it.
During the COVID pandemic situation, he was hosting a show on Instagram, “UNCENSORED conversations tete a talk with Ankit Shaw,” wherein he invited over a matter of just two months 100 celebrity and influential personals on his show. Apart from his talents, he has started influencing and promoting fashion, lifestyle, and skincare tips. His achievements also include being the winner of 2019 Rubaru.
