For quite sometime now the Swami Narayan temple has come under a lot of scrutiny and controversies, be it for making fake currency notes or sexual misconduct of children and women.
The Gujarat crime branch had few months back seized fake notes worth 1.26cr from the Swami Narayan ashram in Ambav village of Kheda district.
Just a few days back, the Swaminarayan temple in Vadtal was embroidered into a controversy of molestation and sexual misconduct of children and not only this there have been several incidents of children and women being molested in the temple premises.
In another incident, a large number of women belonging to the Acharya party of the Swaminarayan temple in Gadhada were brutally beaten up and kicked out of the temple premises.
Now yet again the Swaminarayan temple trust of Gadhada is in the limelight for another controversial incident.
In a recent incident that took place inside the premises of the temple, the Chairman of the temple followed a sadhvi and shot a video of her attending nature’s call. The video was then circulated all over and the incident has come in the open putting a question mark on the safety of the Sadhvis and female members of the temple trust.
Following the incident, many Sadhvis and followers of the association have been demanding strict action. However, no statement about the incident has been released by the board of members as of yet. Sadhvis have now sought help from the police and humanitarian associations and if their demands are not heard, or justice isn’t given, they plan to seek help from the Supreme Court.
