India’s IT Ministry ordered to ban 118 apps that it said were “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, security of state and public order.” The move will help “safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile and internet users. This decision is a targeted move to ensure safety, security, and sovereignty of Indian cyberspace,” the ministry said.
Mohit Patel, Digital Marketer, PR strategist & CEO of “MP media promotion”, on Wednesday said, “PUBG along with 118 other apps has just lost their major target which is India. we welcome this move by our government to safeguard Indian user’s data and protect the country from all the potential threat these apps pose to our national security”.

Mohit said, banning more Chinese Apps in addition to the 59 apps which were banned earlier this year, was necessary as these apps were a threat to the country’s safety, security and sovereignty. Apps like PUBG were “spoiling the youth of our nation as they were consuming more and more time on PUBG and other apps”, The ongoing bitter standoff between Indian and Chinese troops is a matter of complete condemnation. It was about time that we should’ve done something, and we did, banning Chinese apps is big step towards a new India., He added.
