Ramanand Sagar is the name that brought the story of Ramayan to the world through the curtain. Although he is not in this world today, but his name still discussed today. Ramanand Sagar would never have thought that even the children of the 21st century would see the Ramayana which he had worked hard in the 80s. This was possible in the lockdown caused by Coronavirus and Ramanand Sagar’s discussions once again started happening in the house. Do you know, Ramanand, who was fond of reading and writing, started writing a diary during the treatment of TB, after reading a column of which the editor of a newspaper convinced of the writing of Ramanand.
Director Ramanand Sagar was a patient of TB. He came to know about this after a long time. Ramanand Sagar’s son Prem Sagar shared some anecdotes of his father’s life by mentioning this in an interview.

He told that his father i.e. Ramanand Sagar was very fond of writing and reading. One day, while reading something, he suddenly got cough. They saw that there was blood on their clothes. In a hurry, a doctor called and it found that he had TB.
There was no cure for TB at that time. The doctor advised him to admitted to TB Sanatorium. The father then took the father to the TB Sanatorium and admitted him there. At that time, TB patients used to come alive there but their corpse used to go out.
When they reached there, they saw one couple there, who loved each other very much. One day both of them came out healthy. Dad surprised to see them. That day, he realized that love can overcome any disease. From that day on, he started writing diaries daily – diary TB patient from the bed of death.

His column read by literature lovers. One day the editor of a newspaper read his column, which after reading he became crazy about his writing. He got the idea that a man is dying and he is telling people how to live. After this, he started extracting a column in his newspaper, which named as ‘Ramanand Sagar from the bed of death’.
