Somewhere around 42 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli assaults on the Shati displaced person camp and the Tuffah area in Gaza, the top of Gaza’s Administration Media Office told Al Jazeera.
As casualties from an Israeli attack on the al-Mawasi “safe zone” pour into Al-Aqsa Hospital, the WHO states that the health system in Gaza is close to failing. As warplanes and artillery pound the city where a Hamas-planted improvised explosive device destroyed an armored vehicle, Israeli tanks advance further into western Rafah.
No less than 37,551 individuals have been killed and 85,911 injured in Israel’s conflict on Gaza since October 7. The revised death toll from Hamas-led attacks in Israel now stands at 1,139, and dozens of people remain imprisoned in Gaza.
