The U.S. Friday, the Treasury Department announced that it had received $556.7 million from auctions to sell warrants in 11 major U.S. airlines in exchange for COVID-19 assistance. Only a small portion of the assistance given to airlines comes from the proceeds. Congress supported $54 billion in Coronavirus air transporter bailouts in 2020 and 2021.

Aircrafts were expected to reimburse $14 billion of that aggregate and Depository got warrants to buy stock at the offer cost of the hour of the honors. The warrants lapse between April 2025 and June 2026.

The total minimum prices for the warrants had been revised by Treasury to $458 million. The individual auction sale prices will be made public, according to a Treasury spokesperson, later this summer. American Aircrafts (AAL.O) got $12.6 billion in government help, trailed by Delta $11.9 billion, Joined Carriers (UAL.O) $10.9 billion, and Southwest at $7.2 billion.

Seven different carriers got more modest honors, including $2.2 billion for The Frozen North Carriers (ALK.N)Treasury set save costs of $221 million for its Delta warrants, $159 million for Joined together, $25 million for American Carriers, $30 million for SkyWest (SKYW.O), $17 million for Gold country Air, $2.7 million for Hawaiian Carriers (HA.O), $1.9 million for Wilderness Gathering (ULCC.O) and $1.7 million for Southwest.

For its warrants in JetBlue (JBLU), Spirit Airlines (SAVE.N), and Allegiant (ALGT.O), the Treasury requested at least $50,000 per airline. Those warrants and others were estimated beneath the ongoing exchanging costs of the transporters’ stocks. Other airlines did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and Southwest Airlines (LUV.N) and Delta Air Lines (DAL.N) declined to comment.

Additionally, the United States government offered airlines $25 billion in low-cost loans. Demand for air travel fell for the first time ever as a result of the pandemic in 2020. U.S. air traveler travel fell by 60% in 2020 to its most reduced level beginning around 1984, down in excess of 550 million travelers, as carriers sliced costs and attempted to make due.
