Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, expressed admiration for the UAE’s achievements in the space sector, attributing them to the forward-thinking leadership of the nation, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE President, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
These accomplishments not only highlight the nation’s dedication to the space sector but also reaffirm the UAE’s standing as a regional and global leader in space exploration.
Sheikh Hamdan commends the MBRSC for the successful completion of Sultan AlNeyadi’s space mission.
Sheikh Hamdan commended the unwavering dedication of the team at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) over the past six months, ensuring the success of Sultan AlNeyadi’s mission to the International Space Station (ISS) and their continued efforts to complete the longest Arab space mission while ensuring the UAE astronaut’s safe return.
“With the successful completion of Sultan AlNeyadi’s space mission, the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre has achieved another significant milestone. The ‘Zayed 2’ mission exemplifies the boundless vision of our leaders and marks a remarkable moment in the UAE’s journey into space. This mission has not only left a mark in history but has also showcased the capabilities of Emiratis,” Sheikh Hamdan stated.
He extended his gratitude to every member of the MBRSC team for their exceptional dedication, emphasizing their role in setting new standards for innovation and excellence. He eagerly anticipates the next phase in the UAE’s exploration of space.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre plays a pivotal role in shaping the UAE’s future in the space sector by contributing to the growth of the national space industry and supporting the development of a sustainable national economy.
The Centre has played a crucial role in various space missions, including Hazza Al Mansoori’s historic mission as the first UAE astronaut to visit the International Space Station, the Hope Probe mission aimed at exploring Mars, and the launch of KhalifaSat in 2018, the first satellite fully designed and manufactured in the UAE.
