Bodour Al Qasami served as the vice-president of the IPA between 2019-2020, followed by her two-year term as the President of the IPA (International Publishers Association) is known for her praiseworthy accomplishments in boosting the participation of the Publishing Industry in Sustainable development.
Bodour Al Qasimi played a commendable role in changing people’s perception towards women’s contribution to the publishing industry, especially towards that of Arab women. Her role as the president is an example in itself, as she was the first Arab woman and second woman president in history since 1869.
Bodour Al Qasimi introduced the collaboration between publishers from diverse cultures, which mitigated the provocation of the pandemic on the publishing industry. She also aspired to boost the contribution of the secluded societies into the publishing sector while understanding their stumbling blocks by organizing 40 on-site visits. Such visits all over Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Africa was a catalyst towards the initiation of the “International Publishers Association Academy’ where more than 150 executives and chief officials from over 40 countries participated.
IPA President braced and persuaded Arab publishers as they impacted over 420 million Arabs. Finally, her endeavor to revamp the publishing industry has led 11 Arab publishing corporations to associate with IPA.
