Dubai retained its top position in the Mena district on the Mori Memorial Foundation’s Foundation for Metropolitan Methodologies in Japan’s Worldwide Power City File (GPCI) 2022, and ascended three spots overall to rank eleventh on the List.
“The advancement in rankings on ‘Social Communication’ shows Dubai’s rise as a remarkable extension among societies and markets and its capacity to advance commitment among individuals and foundations around the world,” he added.
The city representing things to come
Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Canister Rashid Al Maktoum, Executive of the Dubai Culture and Expressions Authority and member of the Dubai Committee, commented on the rankings, saying, “The effective facilitation of the Dubai Exhibition 2020, one of the world’s greatest comprehensive developments, and the growth in guests have added to the city’s social dynamism.”The city saw more than 11.4 million short-term worldwide guests in the first 10 months of the year. The number of new organisations in Dubai’s social and creative enterprises has also increased dramatically. The advancement accomplished in the “Social Cooperation” boundary approves the outcome of our well-defined courses of action and addresses a significant achievement in our endeavours to accomplish our administration’s vision for Dubai.
Top five rankings
The rankings of the main five urban communities in the “Social Connection” boundary have seen massive changes in the most recent GPCI. Dubai has made rapid progress in this category in recent years.
The guarantor of the record, the Mori Commemoration Establishment’s Organization for Metropolitan Systems, said GPCI 2022 rankings were essentially affected by how urban communities responded to the coronavirus pandemic, which changed working techniques, ways of life, and financial and social exercises in urban areas. Urban communities in the Center East essentially reinforced their presentation along different boundaries.
By following changes in global flight frequencies in urban areas starting around 2019, the GPCI broke down the reactions and methodologies of urban areas and nations to the pandemic. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Dubai has been the main city to resume hosting international visitors. It also established a safe environment for Exhibition 2020 to take place from October 2021 to March 2022. The two accomplishments added to the emirate’s ascent to third positioning in the “Vacation Spots” sub-boundary inside the “Social Connection” boundary. The emirate additionally saw huge development in other sub-boundaries, including “Number of Unfamiliar Guests,” “Urban Areas with Direct Global Flights,” “Engaging Quality of Shopping Choices,” and “Appeal of Eating Choices.”
