On Tuesday, Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez returned to Argentina’s starting line-up after coach Lionel Scaroni made five changes in the opening game of Group C against Saudi Arabia.
Martinez replaced Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez in the attacking line alongside captains Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria, while Alejandro Gomes replaced Alexis Mack Allister in midfield.
There have been three changes in Albiceleste’s defence since he beat the United Arab Emirates 5-0 in the final warm-up game of the World Cup last week.
Nicolas Otamendi, Nicolas Tagliafico, and Cristian Romero are all back, while Lisandro Martinez, Marcos Acuna, and Juan Fois are on the bench.
