Smriti Shriniwas Mandhana (born 18july,1996 in Mumbai) is an Indian Cricketer who plays for the Indian Women’s National team. She gave up science in school and Choose career in hospitality without any regrets.Both her father and brother, Shravan, played cricket for Sangli at the district-level which inspired her to take up cricket after watching her brother play at the different Maharashtra state Under-16s tournaments. At the age of nine, she also got selected in the Maharashtra’s Under-15 team. At eleven, she was a part of the Maharashtra Under-19s team
After making her One Day Internationals debut in 2013 in a match against Bangladesh, Mandhana made her Test debut in August 2014 against England at Wormsley Park. She helped her team win the match by scoring 22 and 51 in her first and second innings, respectively.
In March 2018, she broke her own record of scoring the fastest fifty for India in a Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) fixture, taking just 25 balls in the opening match of the tournament against England. Her previous record came against Australia women in the 2017–18 India women’s Tri-Nation Series where she took 30 balls to reach a half-century.
She is even ranked no 4 in ODI batting ranking and is considered as one of the best batswomen in the current generation. She was also the captain of Women’s IPL Trailblazers.
Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) recently also named her as the “Best Women’s International Cricketer”.
