Talent and passion are two huge things that determine an artist’s career. Sure, luck plays a significant part too, but there are some artists who, even in challenging times, and situations turn their destiny around. One such artist is Julez Kalima.
Kalima was born in Afghanistan. His parents, after 6months of his birth, migrated to France because of the ongoing Afghan war. After staying in Paris for the next three years, they moved again, this time to Toronto, in a government housing complex. And at age 12, his family shifted to a high-risk neighborhood in the east end of Toronto.
Having quite an unstable habitat as a child, one thing that was a constant for Kalima was his interest in West Coast music. He was heavily influenced and inclined towards the West Coast music and culture. Snoop Dogg, Dr. DRE, 2PAC, and artists like them piqued Julez’s interest. Now when Julez is a professional music producer and singer, his team carefully studies the patterns, sounds, and style of Julez’s favorite artists to reflect in his music.
As a 16-year-old, Julez started freestyling with beats and created sounds he enjoyed. At 22, Julez had worked at a successful music studio In Toronto for two years. Julez moved to Dubai for six years and pursued music to further learn about it and elevate his skills. After training in music for some years, Julez decided to be a professional artist.
In the last year and a half, Julez has recorded an EP and released singles. His unmatched style and flair moved the audience. Julez is currently working on his music to produce some smooth sounds and sweep his listener’s off the floJulez Kalimaor.
