On Monday the Bihar government has announced the lockdown will be extended till September 6 in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the state, as per a notification. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Crisis Management Group chaired by Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar.
“In view of the present Coronavirus situation in Bihar, the state government has imposed further restrictions remaining effective till 06.09.2020,” the Home Department of Bihar said in a statement.
Restrictions will remain in place in the district headquarters, sub-divisional headquarters, block headquarters and all municipal areas in the state, according to the notification issued by the Home Department.
Parks and gymnasiums will remain closed and night curfew, restricting the movement of people between 10 pm and 5 am, will be in place, it added.
Inter-state and inter-district bus services will also remain suspended though transportation of goods will be allowed without any hindrance.
Banks, insurance offices and ATMs has remained functional. Print and electronic media officers are permitted to operate during the lockdown. Information Technology companies who who work essential sectors, are allowed to work. Internet service providers, broadband and cable services can also function. E-commerce services like Amazon and Flipkart will be permitted.
Restaurants have only home delivery or take away services. However, hotels, motels and lodges are exempted from the lockdown.
