India is modernizing its army by buying from BOTH Russia and America

India army upgraded with new weapons

INDIA (Consortium News) – Being the world’s second-largest arms buyer, India is modernizing its army by buying directly from Russian and Western producers in order to satisfy its own armed forces requirements – it’s this uncommon duplicity that makes India distinct amongst modern-day armies.

” Our experts create the best weapons ever created … and also we’re doing business today with India,” United States Leader Donald Trump told applauding masses in the ‘Namaste Trump’ celebration in the town of Ahmedabad recently, as he shared the stage with India’s leader Narendra Modi.

India was identified/confirmed as a “Notable Self Defense Associate” by the united state of America during 2016, and Washington has since then been eager to supply New Delhi with its own weapons. That made the finalizing of a brand-new agreement to get 24 MH-60 ‘Romeo’ naval multi-mission choppers and even 6 extra AH-64E Apache assault choppers – worth at around $3 billion dollars – a showcase of the Trumps latest excursion.

Here is how India is modernizing its army

India is going to get an American’ Integrated Air Protection Weapon System (IADWS) with a $2 billion dollar price sticker, as well as a line of armed ‘Predator’ drones. These kinds of acquisitions might bring the overall worth of India’s arms buying from Trump to over $20 billion dollars this year, helping make the United States it’s second-biggest arms provider/dealer, however, Russia is still India’s biggest arms supplier.

This particular connection is a fresh one. India customarily looked nearer to home in order to fulfill its army demands – the Soviet Union. Though during the course of the Cold War, India has long depended on Russian arms imports.

Right now, Russian weapons represent approximately 60-70 per-cent of India’s arms imports.

Also business progressed farther right after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Deals among Russia and India are set to surpass $16 billion dollars.

The most recent purchases consist of the S-400 air-defense unit, Kalashnikov guns and even Kamov choppers for the naval force.
