US voters across the political spectrum have little faith in the fairness of the method of nominating a candidate from either party, but Democrats are particularly likely to have reservations about the mechanism of their own party.

41 percent of Democratic voters say they have a lot or quite a bit of confidence in the nomination process of the Democratic Party, while 34 percent have moderate trust and 25 percent have little or no faith.

While 61 percent of Republicans say they have high confidence in the structure of their party and only 13 percent have low confidence. In the GOP nomination process, President Donald Trump has only minimal resistance, and several Republican state parties have even rescinded holding a primary.

Julianne Morgan, 29, of Dayton, Ohio, said her trust in the Democratic Party process was compromised earlier this month when Democrats postponed tabulating the results of Iowa’s first-in-nation caucuses due to faulty mobile app issues.

Her worries have been further amplified this week after reading that some recent polls omitted Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat who is third in the count of delegates, in hypothetical head-to-head match-ups against Trump.

“It really doesn’t sound like all the candidates have had true representation,” stated Morgan, who supports Warren’s candidacy.

Many participants in the Political Spectrum said they worried that an increasingly hostile internal fight for the Democratic presidential nomination would weaken whoever succeeds

in Nov to take Donald on. The vote was held before hopefuls from the White-house on Wed engaged in the election’s most fierce debate. Dems are scheduled to hold their third battle in Nevada for the 2020 nomination this Saturday.

“We continue to dig at one another,” says Roger Kempton, 85, of Niles, Michigan, a 2016 Trump voter who once said he intended to vote in 2020 for a Democratic nominee. “The most important thing is to win the presidency, they argue, yet continue to fight one another. It just makes people like me uncomfortable with the options.
