Former NBA star player Sebastian Telfair has been condemned to three and a half yrs behind bars for handgun possession, Brooklyn Dist. Atty. Eric Gonzalez revealed Monday.
Telfair was founded guilty of criminal possession of a weapon in April when police officers discovered a weapon inside his automobile in the course of a 2017 traffic stop.
The 33-year-old point guard that one time played for organizations such as the Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers, and even Minnesota Timberwolves was stoppered and detained in Brooklyn on June 11th, 2017 after he parking on a median, then trying to making a U-turn over the median, and even driving a car without having front lights, the DA’s department pointed out in a press release.
The police officers that stopped Telfair have noticed the smell of cannabis, and also seen an ignited cannabis cigarette inside the vehicle’s console, the information came from the da’s office.
Telfair and a male traveler were apprehended, police officers, checked the motor vehicle and found a loaded .45 caliber firearm inside the car’s console, the district lawyer or attorney explained.
” The accused exercised his right to a jury system examination and was found responsible or guilty for having an unlawful gun,” Gonzalez mentioned within an announcement.
