SYRIA – “The coalition bombing in Iraq and Syria have left some 11,800 dead civilians, including 2,300 children and 1,130 women”, reported on Thursday the Iraqi High Commissioner for Human Rights claimed in a report.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria has sent several letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) and the President of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), in which he has condemned in harsh terms the continuous attacks of the coalition against civilians and the infrastructure of the Arab country.
Both the Government of Iraq and the Syrian Government question the effectiveness of the US bombing.
The so-called coalition against ISIL, led by the United States killed some 12,000 civilians in attacks in Iraq and Syria since 2014.
While the coalition has admitted to killing at least 1114 civilians as a result of the numerous operations carried out by its fighters since 2014 in Iraq and Syria, the figures provided by the independent journalist organization indicate that the balance of victims in those two countries greatly exceeds that recognized by the Western alliance, considering that the data provided should be multiplied.
