ARGENTINA – An Argentine courtroom on Tuesday convicted a pair of former Ford Motor Co. execs to imprisonment, for assisting agents from the previous dictatorship to capture 24 Argentine union employees that were tortured & kept in army prisons.
The court was literally crowded by family members of those victims, quite a few busted out with applause right after the court’s decision to find the defendants guilty of “criminal offenses against humanity.”
The judge mentioned that factory production executive Pedro Muller, along with security supervisor Hector Francisco Sibilla, focused on employees and even provided relevant information to security agents for their kidnapping & torture that followed immediately after the 1976 armed forces coup.
Muller had been condemned to ten years and Sibilla to twelve years.
Santiago Omar Riveros, a retired head of the military’s 4th regiment, was condemned to 15 yrs.
