The term “rom-com” generally comes with a few preconceived notions. The movie will feature a person and a lady who meet in a super cute (however awkward) way. They instantly have emotions but tensions rise and threaten the relationship.
By the third act, everything is right and they stay happily ever after. We’ve seen it one million times. “Happiest Season” is a rom-com that targets to change things up in a fairly fundamental way.
What pictures revealed?
As seen in the new first-appearance pics from Sony’s upcoming movie, “Happiest Season” is the first fundamental studio rom-com to feature a lesbian couple at the center.
And at the same time as that may appear like a minor tweak to an present formula, the concept of including an LGBTQ+ couple in a romantic comedy is some thing pretty huge in terms of inclusivity. Not to mention, the 2 leads are tremendous actresses, Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis. Oh, and the movie is directed through Clea DuVall.
What the storyline is all about?
The movie’s premise appears fairly typical, because the tale follows a lady that is invited to fulfill her girlfriend’s family for the primary time during Christmas vacation. And while there, she plans on featuring to her companion in a fairy tale-esque way.
Unfortunately, she then reveals out that her girlfriend’s family doesn’t even understand she’s gay, and thus, the whole plan (and relationship) is turned on its head.
Star Cast and Release Date
As mentioned, Stewart and Davis big name in the feature along Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Daniel Levy, Victor Garber, and Mary Steenburgen. Those are truly a few performing powerhouses. As mentioned, the movie is directed through DuVall, based on a script she co-wrote with Mary Holland. This movie marks the second feature directed through DuVall, after her 2016 debut, “The Intervention.”
“Happiest Season” is predicted to arrive on November 25 in theaters.
