“Bill Porter inspires me”, says Jose Colmenares Velasco aka Joe Colmenares , with the certainty of someone who knows his story and how valuable it is for those who find no limits but opportunities.
It immediately launches you on a search: Who is Bill Porter? A man with a fascinating, inspiring story that drives wills.
Knowing who Bill Porter is might seem like a no-brainer for someone like @joecolmenaresv, a Venezuelan born in Caracas on February 18th, 1985, but is the evidence that his world wasn’t reduced to study only to learn, but to be an expert in his area.
He is the son of Jose Antonio Colmenares Barradas and Carmen Velasco, and confesses he lived a happy childhood, “I played Nintendo & baseball, and was dedicated to my studies”. He also participated in plays and school dances: “I really liked to read especially novels by Gabriel García Márquez and Paulo Coelho”, he reveals.
His training is not something that was only linked to the mere academy, it was always something beyond what is expected. Joe studied at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.
He finds a role model in his father, since his childhood and is forceful with his motivations:
“Travel and making my loved ones happy”, are areas he has covered with much satisfaction.
He likes to go to the movies and watch documentaries and comments that: “Taking courses to improve skills on diverse subjects”, count as one of his hobbies.
He graduated in Business Administration career, but his horizons have always been wide. Today, he is an expert on Marketing, an Investment Advisor, and a Life Insurance & Final Expenses Guide. It’s no coincidence that he often repeats the phrase: “Nobody has ever gone bankrupt for insurance on a monthly basis, but many families have lost everything due to not having been insured”. An expression he did not learn by chance.
His stay in Canada allowed him to add experience, since in this country he worked as a telemarketing agent and strengthened languages that are already natural to him in his day to day: English and French.
He is an administrator with many facets as he has been able to explore, his development in the communicational area allowed him to be a co-founder of @venezuelalucha, so he
knows Venezuela’s situation well. In 2017, he documented first-hand what was experienced during the protests and street actions.
@joecolmenaresv currently resides in the city of Brandon, Florida (USA), since this country runs successful businesses and has created essential networks for his company.
Without excess, without greed, and without pressure”, are expressions on which he has built his exercise in marketing and trading, areas in which he has extensive experience and trajectory.
“Do good and don’t look at who”.
Is a phrase that to Joe Colmenares is loaded with a lot of sense and states with the property.
In 2013, he participated in Un Techo Para Mi País, a nonprofit association dedicated to recruit young people, that contributes with the construction of houses for the neediest in Medellin, Colombia.
He descries this experience with clarity: “The greatest satisfaction to help someone without receiving anything in return, with no discrimination whatsoever, is to see others happy and feel full for having the possibility to help others”.
He has toured many countries, knows about politics, has seen the social fiber that makes up Venezuela, knows how successful administrative schemes are managed and sustained, so he doesn’t hesitate about being exhaustive with this statement: “I would like for Communism and Oppressive Governments to be eradicated from the world”.
