American President Donald Trump has threatened that the US would withdraw from WHO funding forever if the World Health Organization did not promise real reform within the next 30 days. In a letter to WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyes, the US President said that the whole world is suffering punishment for your organization’s repeated mistakes regarding the coronavirus. Trump also said that he would consider withdrawing from membership of the WHO.
Trump said in his letter, ‘It is clear that your organization and you have repeatedly taken the wrong steps in dealing with the coronavirus epidemic which is costing the world a lot. The only way for the WHO to move forward is to prove its independence from China. My administration has already started talks with you to improve this global organization. But immediate steps need to be taken. We don’t have to waste time’.
