Vodafone Idea has introduced a new voice based contactless recharge option for its Vodafone and Idea prepaid customers, which customers can use at retail outlets. Although the company offers its customers the option to recharge their prepaid through Vodafone and Idea apps, there are still many consumers who still depend on retail outlets for mobile recharge even today. Most of these numbers are of feature phone users. This new recharge option of the company is also aimed at preventing the spread of the rapidly spreading corona virus. As everyone knows the risk of infection of this virus increases due to people coming in contact, so the government has been urging people to keep distance from each other. This contactless voice-based recharge option of the company has been introduced in view of this.

How does the voice-based contactless recharge option at retail stores work?

Usually whenever a consumer goes to a retail store for mobile recharge, the shopkeeper first hands them a phone in which the consumer enters his prepaid number and returns it to the shopkeeper. After this, the shopkeeper again takes the phone in his hands and then completes the recharge process. However, this new voice based contactless recharge option of this recharge has been made completely safe. In this process, the consumer has to speak only their number, Vodafone Idea’s smart contact retailer app will capture their voice through Google voice assistant and type the number themselves and for recharging.

Let me tell you, Vodafone Idea has said that the voice based recharge feature currently works in Hindi and English language, but in the coming days it will be added to other languages. This process will be completed in phase manor. As we mentioned earlier, this new recharge option has been brought by the company at such a time, then the whole world is fighting the corona virus. Maintaining social distance from the main weapon of this fight, the more people will come in contact with each other, the greater the risk of spreading the virus. The government recently divided the zones into zones, providing relief in the lockdown implemented for a few weeks, delivery of non-essential goods has been started in the Green and Orange zones and many shops are also being opened.

It is worth noting that recently, Vodafone Idea had released a double data offer on pan-India basis, in which the company is providing 2GB additional high speed data to the customers. However, this offer is applicable only on prepaid recharge plans of Rs 299, Rs 449 and Rs 699.
