Kubbra Sait who was seen in Sacred Games, playing a transgender character of Kuckoo, shares her Bollywood journey. Despite having to struggle to make her space in the industry she refuses to be critical to those who have it easy.
Kubbra Sait was recently seen in Jawaani Jaaneman alongside Saif Ali Khan where she beautifully played the role of a girl next door. She says it was slightly different from the roles she had played and wishes to play. She is more inclined towards playing those roles where her character has a voice and a story to tell.
Kubbra’s views on nepotism
Kubbra shares that there is no short path to success in this industry and further highlights that she herself has been in the industry for almost 10 years without giving up. “If I had decided to give up or if I had decided to deal with everybody else out there without being patient, it’s not the industry to blame, it is me,” she adds.
There are Bhumi Pednekar, Ayushmann Khurrana and Taapsee Pannu who do not belong from the industry but now are leading actors due to their exceptional performances and hard work in the industry, Kubbra points out. There are people who get their chances easily but to survive you need to be good in what you do, she adds.
Kubbra on her recent and future projects
Recently, Kubbra played Meher Salam, a phenomenal role in Illegal. “I really associated with Meher Salam’s pain. There is no justice for such people in the judicial system and that was heartbreaking. These stories are real and need to be told, I am so glad someone had the courage to tell the story the way it is,” Kubbra tells.
On her new role, Kubbra tells that she is playing a role of super fun and happy go lucky girl in Dolly Kitty Aur Chamakte Sitare.
