Aaliya says that her married life was not going well for 10 years, but she did not want to make it public. But now they have decided to divorce.
Aaliya’s lawyer Abhay Sahai has also come out with a statement on the matter. Abhay said, ‘Aaliya has sent a divorce notice to Nawaz on May 13 via WhatsApp and email. Nawaz has not yet given any reply on this, but we have given him 15 days to reply. What they will answer, then a decision will taken as to what to do next. Because the courts are closed now, further action will be considered after their response.
Abhay said, ‘Aaliya has suffered a lot. She is handling the children alone. She lives in Mumbai and it is very difficult to handle children alone. At home, the father is like a pillar. So now Aaliya has decided to get divorced ‘.

Talking to Bombay Times, Aaliya said, ‘The 2-month lockdown gave me a lot of time to introspect. Self-respect is very important in marriage. She is over me, I have no more left. I was made to feel as if I am nothing. I always felt lonely. ‘I have changed my name back to Anjana Kishore Pandey. I do not want someone to remind me again and again that I am using someone else’s identity for my own benefit.
