The benchmark S&P 500 for U.S. stocks has seen targets raised by brokers by year’s end. SPX amid rising expectations that the Federal Reserve will begin lowering interest rates at its meeting on September 17-18.

The majority of analysts are eagerly awaiting the U.S. decision, but they anticipate the Fed maintaining its quarter-point rate cut at the September meeting. the August employment report from the Department of Labor for any indications of additional job market softening that could prompt a stronger response from the central bank.
