Karamveer Chakra awardee Naman Tyagi’s company ‘Weddopedia’ is scaling new heights in the Indian market

The startups in India have boomed in the last few years which have fostered the Indian economy, thanks to innovative strategies of young entrepreneurs. Having done outstanding work with his wedding portal ‘Weddopedia’, Naman Tyagi is contributing his best on the field and off the field. Amidst the coronavirus crisis, Naman has made several donations and has initiated drives for the poor and needy people. He hails from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh and is making people aware of staying safe by taking all the precautionary measures in this pandemic through his social media campaigns. He says, “Social issues have always been a priority for me. As a responsible citizen, I understand my responsibilities and adhere to serve the people of my country.”

 

For his works, Tyagi has been honoured with the Karamveer Chakra Award by the Global Fellowship Award instituted by the United Nations and International Confederation of NGO (iCONGO) at the ReX ConcLIVE at IIT Delhi. His startup is an emerging name among other wedding planning platforms. ‘Weddopedia’ was selected as one of the top startups by FIED at IIM Kashipur. Naman considers the startup as his baby and he says that he is proud to see how it is growing so fast in the Indian market. The Karamveer Chakra Award bestowed to him is a sign of respect for its ambassador Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the former president of India.

 

‘Weddopedia’ is the one-stop destination for the couples who want to plan their wedding. It takes care of the entire wedding, management, finding a suitable vendor and arranging other comforts and facilities for the clients according to their budget. Founded on Naman’s birthday on December 3, 2016, the wedding planning company is growing at a good pace making its presence all over the country. Speaking about the functioning of the company, he said, “It was launched as a user-friendly website. It verifies the vendor, the client’s budget and place and gives a variety of options to the clients. It is a new generation wedding portal for couples and is rapidly growing. I feel proud that my company was selected in the Drishti Program 2020 supported by the DST Government of India at IIM Kashipur FIED.”

 

Besides this, Naman Tyagi has built a strong fanbase on social media. With more than 500 thousand fans on Facebook, he has got more than 100 thousand followers on Instagram. On the other hand, ‘Weddopedia’, is also growing on both the platforms with more than 200 thousand followers. Leveraging on his popularity, Tyagi has made the company a successful venture. The entrepreneur in his journey so far has been nominated and awarded more than 10 national and state awards in the last year. In 2019, Naman even became a world record holder for enlisting his social media pages. Through his works, his major goal is to serve India and stand for his countrymen as a pioneer in every situation.
