Earth’s magnetic north pole is approaching Siberia at a very fast and worrying pace. Researchers in Britain and Denmark have given this information based on a study. He says that he has also found out the reason for this movement going south.
He says that there is a lot of movement between two Lobes of magnetic force in the Earth’s core (one surface). Due, to which this change has been observed. According to the study, North Pole has shifted from 9 to 35 miles from 1999 to 2005 from its location.
A never before seen the North Pole had discovered by James Clark Ross in 1831 at the Boothia Peninsula in Nunavut, Kanata. Scientists were studying its position since then. According to Phil Livermore, Associate Professor of Geophysics at the Lead Researcher University of Leeds, it has never seen before. He told Live Science, ‘Our guess is that Poll will continue to shift towards Siberia but predicting the future is a challenge and we cannot say with a claim’. The study studied 20 years of satellite data from the European Space Administration’s Swarm Satellite Mission.
Therefore,
According to the researchers, the position of the North Magnetic Pole for the last two decades has determined by the lobes of two large negative magnetic fluxes at the boundary of the core-mantle below Canada and Siberia. ‘ It is due to them that this change is happening. In December last year, the World Magnetic Model showed that the Magnetic North is shifting every 30 miles. This is the fastest speed since the 16th century due to which aviation. The navigation system and GPS based smartphone apps can be affected worldwide.
The British Geological Survey told MailOnline, “The magnetic north pole ran around North Canada between 1590 and 1990. Then, began to shift 10 to 50 km every year over the last 20 years”. In contrast, South Pole has removed very little from its place in the last 100 years.
