Coronavirus is causing havoc in the country. As a result, the migration of migrant labourers is happening rapidly due to the possibility of lockdown and closure. In Uttar Pradesh alone, more than 16 lakh labourers have returned from different parts of the country. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to migrant labourers to travel by safe means. He has asked the police to stop the migrants coming by trucks, bikes, bicycles etc. and has instructed to arrange to take them home.

Avnish Kumar Awasthi told on Sunday that till Saturday more than 16.50 lakh people have returned from other places. Out of this, more than 1.5 lakh people have returned to Uttar Pradesh in one day. Whereas more than 522 trains have reached the state till 2 pm on Sunday. About 6 lakh 65 thousand 369 migrants have come by train. Today 87 trains are coming to the state.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reiterated the commitment for the safe return of migrant workers and workers. He has instructed officers posted in the field to communicate with other states and arrange to send workers returning to Uttar Pradesh by Shramik Express or safe vehicles.
Whereas, the state government has made arrangements for food and drink for the migrant workers who reach the border of the state. Medical screening is also being done by taking them to the Quarantine Center. Along with this, the Chief Minister has asked the migrant workers and workers to do their skilling while keeping them in the quarantine centre, so that they can be provided employment in the state only after the completion of the home quarantine.
On the other hand, cases of corona infection are increasing in the state. The total number of Covid-19 active cases in the state has increased to 1805. So far, 2444 patients have completely recovered and discharged. So far, a total of 4353 corona positive cases have been reported in the state and 104 people have died due to infection.
