There were 7,026 new cases on Saturday, which is less than the 7,472 cases reported on Friday. The number of patients admitted to the ICU in Italy has decreased for the first time. “The number of ICU patients has decreased by 74,” Angelo Borelli, head of the Department of Civil Protection, said on Saturday.
There were 681 deaths on Saturday, which is much lower than before. Borelli said that since 969 deaths on March 27, the daily death rate has been steadily decreasing. The need for life support systems in nursing homes in France is declining. Their percentage fell from 4 per cent on Friday to 2.6 per cent on Saturday. Covid-19 cases in Portugal crossed the 10,000 marks on Saturday, reaching 10,524.
