Gaza Strip Fisherman Attack by Israeli Navy forces

PALESTINE – Local Palestinian that work just off the coast of Gaza strip said, fisherman attack by Israeli Navy forces throughout 2018, this was confirmed and reported by the Israeli Human Rights group.

According to these sources at least six fishermen originating from Palestine which severely injured by Israeli rubber-coated bullets, this violent action resulted in the death of a local fisherman.

Likewise, sources have confirmed that during the 2018 year, Israeli Naval forces have harassed continuously Palestinian fisherman, by arresting 55 and to date three of those arrested have not yet been released.

Israeli Navy additionally confiscated the fisherman’s paddle boats used exclusively for fishing by the locals.

Israeli Naval forces have damaged at least 32 flood lights used on these boats, 3 GPS units and at least one Echo device that helps fishermen locate their bounties.

According to the NGO, 122 Palestinian fishing nets have been lost at sea as a result of the harassment.

According to one of the sources who wish to be anonymous said, “Israel military boats continue to abuse fisherman, looking for every little thing so as to confront and harass these local fishing merchants”.

Middle East headlines news team, in addition, has learned that Israeli officials have likewise restricted exports and even marketing a Palestinian fish and prohibited the importing of goods that are essential to maintaining the fishing industry for Palestine, for instance for the repair of the “hasaks” or otherwise referred to as “paddle boats for fishing”.

“These type of restrictions by the Israeli government’s and their violence towards Palestinian fishing sections has struck a devastating blow to the communities,” said one local fisherman.

According to sources, 3700 fishermen are around the Gaza strip, in reality about 50% of those registered fishermen actually go out fishing since the other half cannot use their boats since they cannot get parts to repair and or build new boats, and because the Israeli military or navy continues to confiscate these boats.

Sources say “Israel continues it’s control over many if not all aspects of Palestinian life within the Gaza strip”, sometimes from far away and sometimes on the ground level, in any event, “squeezing the life sources of the Palestinian people”.
