As violence continues to rise in the occupied West Bank, seven Palestinians have been killed and a number of others have been injured in an Israeli raid in Jenin. Hamas asserts that it opposes any plans to undermine the independent Palestinian administration of Gaza or to deploy any foreign forces there.
In the Shujayea neighborhood of Gaza City, where they claim to have killed approximately 100 Palestinians, Israeli ground forces continue their military operation.
According to sources who spoke with Al Jazeera, Israel’s Mossad spy chief David Barnea has visited Doha as the head of a negotiating delegation amid reports of a “breakthrough” following Hamas’s most recent response to a ceasefire proposal. Israel’s war on Gaza has resulted in at least 38,011 deaths and 87,445 injuries since October 7.
Israel’s death toll from Hamas-led attacks is estimated to be 1,139, and dozens of people remain imprisoned in Gaza.
