AMSTERDAM – A 51-year-old Canadian was apprehended in the Schiphol flight terminal within Amsterdam immediately after authorities suspected the man of having a bomb.
Joanna Helmonds, a spokesperson for the border of law enforcement organization inside of the Netherlands, mentioned the occurrence taken place late Monday evening within one of the airport departure areas.
Exit 3 out of Schiphol Airport Terminal on Monday, December 31, 2018, was briefly closed up following threats coming from an unidentified male who was likely toting an explosive
The area was literally evacuated as a safety measure. The law enforcement agency continues to investigate the incident, the anti-explosive devices out of the authorities did not even locate any explosives.
The Canadian whose full name was never given out continues to be held in police custody.
