The Chinese consulate in South Korea has suspended issuing transient visas to South Korean visitors, it announced on Tuesday, as a primary retaliatory measure against countries imposing Coronavirus controls on Chinese travelers.
The consulate will change its strategy subject to the lifting of South Korea’s “oppressive passage limitations” against China, it said on its official WeChat account.
A Chinese international safe-haven official affirmed the new measures.
The declaration comes a day after Unfamiliar Pastor Qin Posse expressed worry about the limitations in a call with his South Korean partner, Park Jin, as per China’s unfamiliar service.
South Korea’s Park told Qin the new line limitations were “science-based” measures, as per his office.
Last week, South Korean police found a Chinese man who disappeared while anticipating quarantine subsequent to testing positive for Coronavirus upon appearance. The episode raised worries about the spread of the infection from China.
South Korean Leader Yoon Suk-yeol stated on Monday that the country’s line measures should be centred on the safety of its citizens.
