LinkSure Network, a Chinese internet technology has recently unveiled the first satellite in concept to a future concept plan to offer free WiFi service globally, following global tech giants into this path. Founded in 2013 and based in Shanghai LinkSure Network promotes itself as a global innovative mobile internet serving company specialized in free internet access, location and content-based services on its official website.
As per company statement, LinkSure will launch the satellite from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center based in Northwest China’s Gansu province sometime next year. The company also targets to launch 10 more satellite by the end of 2020, and the numbers are targeted to be reached a total 272 by 2016. Users of LinkSure Network could use their mobile phones to search for internet services offered by the satellite constellation and browse the internet without any interruption, even in regions where telecom networks do not cover properly, said a report in China Daily.
The CEO of LinkSure Network – Wang Jingying said “Our company targets to invest approx 3 billion Yuan into this project. We believe that through different scenarios, modes, and applications, the company could earn in the future.”
As there were still 3.9 billion people were still not connected to the internet, according to the date from the UN, this planned satellite constellations might be the futurate alternative to access internet in diverse and complex geomorphology, and places where telecom facilities can’t be installed. As the space commercial is expected to be a fruitful business in near future and tech giants such as SpaceX, Google, Telesat, and OneWeb have already implemented plans to use satellite to offer free internet access, this step from LinkSure Network is definitely a welcoming step which going to change the lives of millions.
